It's definitely not the miserly part of life. It's mystery of life not a miserable life. Humanity wants to know things. Humanity wants to know and feel secure about the things which are coexisting. As it is thought today, that is "Thinking" is the precious gift of humanity. Why one should think it as a gift? Is it because, we never produced atom-bombs? Is it because, America never dropped them on Japan? Is it because, we spend so much money on setting up armed forces? Is it because, religions fighting with each other for something which they never understood? Ask yourself. What is it so great about the "ability to think"?
Let's also look at it from another angle. Is it because we think we are saving the world? Is it because we think we are living in a better world where everyday new inventions are raining? Is it because you think that the next generation will not suffer the problem's you had in your life?
Now it's time to look at the answers. You don't save the world but you think you are saving the world. Because you don't press a gas pedal to decide how fast the earth should rotate. You are living in a better world because you compare. Otherwise you would be simply living your life. And you are not protecting or saving the next generation by inventing new things. They will have their own problems and their own suffering. Even if they don't have one, they will create one and live in it.
So stop worrying about past. One keeps doing it because one want's to think and feel he has achieved something. Otherwise there is no need to think about past. There is nothing wrong in looking at history to approach life positively but unfortunately you look into it so that you can feed your mind to feel proud, jealous, greedy, egoistic. If not for comparison how can you ever tell someone if he lives a better life or a bitter one? Comparison is the mother of two - One 'Inferiority' and other 'Superiority'. Two sides of the same coin.
Immediacy of life. The threat's it presents. Uncertainty of next hour. Above all, the projected fear. What will happen if there is no food tomorrow? One does not dare to think of a day without food. If one happens to think that way, his memory jumps immediately and reminds him of what it feels to be without food. So he goes on saving money in bank to feel secure. But he does not stop there. He extends his savings for health, for his loved ones, for his fantasies, for his own definition of 'living comfortable' and to show off.
Having said all that, now I like to ask you a question. Do you want to have the taste of life? If yes then please think of below things.
1. Think about death. It can happen any moment. If that is the case what exactly you keep on planning your life for? Don't you see the stupidity of planning? Planning is good but only planning and not living your life?
2. Think about being naked. Think you don't have a piece of cloth to hide your body. Think you don't have any savings balance. Think you don't have any pride to protect. Think you don't have any secret to protect. Think you don't have the need to eat food. Think you don't have to feel physical pain. Of course these questions may look foolish but isn't it true? When the death comes and it can come any time and in any form, what can you do about it? You are no less innocent than a child wanting to play with fire for the very first time.
